The Trent Severn Waterway has now released their first drawdown forecast in 2018 covering the next two weeks for the reservoir lakes. To view – click here.
With the very hot weather, limited localized rainfall and very high evaporation rates on the Kawartha Lakes it is now necessary to begin drawing down the reservoirs to maintain minimum flows and levels in the downstream Canal Lakes and connecting rivers and channels.
In the reservoir areas many lakes are forecast to drop more than 10 cms or 4 inches over the next two weeks. The flow through lakes and connecting rivers in the reservoir areas will benefit from the increased flows.
