Given the high temperatures, significant evaporation from large lakes, and lack of general precipitation over the Kawartha lakes and the reservoirs, the TSW has begun the drawdown of the reservoirs. This drawdown forecast indicates a significant draw on all the reservoirs to maintain lake levels downstream on the canal. All of the major rivers in the reservoir area should see some increase in flows. Although there is rain in the weather forecast it is for showers and thunderstorms and therefore may be hit and miss across the reservoir lakes with drought conditions continuing in some areas.
