Our Lands & Waters

  • The CEWF respectfully acknowledges that the lands and waters of its members are located on the traditional territory of the Williams Treaties First Nations which are Curve Lake, Rama, Hiawatha, Alderville, Scugog Island, Beausoleil and Georgina Island First Nations. The CEWF acknowledges a shared presence of Indigenous nations throughout the area, and recognizes its original, Indigenous inhabitants as the stewards of its lands and waters since time immemorial.

Responses from Municipal Election Candidates, 2018

Municipal elections will be held in Ontario on October 22nd, 2018. The CEWF prepared a briefing note about water resource management issues and stakeholder concerns, along with three questions. These were sent in early August to all municipal candidates in the seven RaFT lake municipalities.  The questions from CEWF and the candidate’s response are reproduced in municipality specific files for readers to peruse. Be sure to question your candidates about their positions on the issues and their support for stakeholders. Become an informed voter.
