Time out for some good news:

Congratulations to David Lean!

The County of
Peterborough Recognition Awards were handed out Friday night, May 24, at the
Asphodel-Norwood Community Centre.  The
award for Environmental Recognition went to Dr. David Lean
from Jack’s Lake and
Apsley in North Kawartha. David is a member of the CEWF Executive Committee having
recently retired as a professor from University of Ottawa where he held an
NSERC Industrial Chair in Ecotoxicology.

Prior to 1996, David spent
24 years as a scientist and project leader at Environment Canada’s National
Water Research Institute in Burlington, Ontario, Canada where he was principal
investigator for projects on the influence of nutrients on eutrophication in
the Great Lakes Ecosystem with particular attention to Lake Ontario and Lake
Erie.

David’s expertise on
the impact of nutrients, mercury and climate change continues to be a great
asset to the Coalition in our efforts towards integrated water management at
the watershed level with a focus on the reservoir and flow-through lakes of the
Trent watershed Haliburton and northern Peterborough Counties. Congratulations
David!
