The annual drawdown of the reservoir lakes has begun in earnest, about a month later than usual due to the wet summer.
Following CEWF requests, the Trent-Severn Waterway is posting weekly water level forecasts on its website for the first time.
The first forecast, for the two-week period ending September 8th, is available at http://www.pc.gc.ca/eng/lhn-nhs/on/trentsevern/plan/plan18.aspx or by clicking here.
During this period the following lakes are forecast to drop by 0.25m (10”) or more: Kennisis, Red Pine, Gull, Anstruther, Mississagua, Eel’s. Note that rain or operational issues may affect the accuracy of these forecasts. Make sure that boats and docks are secured appropriately if you will be away from the lake during a period of significant drawdown!
