Water Level Forecast Jul 25 – Aug 8

The water level forecast for the TSW reservoirs for the period July 25th to August 8th has now been posted by Parks Canada.

CEWF has learned from Parks Canada the the drought conditions over the Kawartha Lakes and further south in the Trent Basin have intensified over the last two weeks. All three of the Conservation Authorities covering the Canal areas and the southern parts of the Trent Basin now have declared either a Level 1 or Level 2 low water condition in the areas under their jurisdiction.

As a result the rate of drawdown in many of the reservoir lakes has been increased as Park Canada moves to supplement levels further south and to balance the drawdown. This is particularly true in some of the Central Lakes (Mississagua, Ells, Jack's, Crystal, and Anstruther) and for several of the reservoirs in the Burnt and Gull River basins.
