CEWF continues to maintain ongoing communication with the TSW Water Management Team.
The TSW Water Management Team has been actively adding logs to all accessible reservoir dams to capture as much of the current melt and rainfall runoff as possible. The only dam that has not been accessible has been Anstruther but that dam will be logged this week. This means that the flow over the dams is minimal. The only other exceptions are in the lower Gull River where flows have been maintained.
In the last week TSW has seen over 40% of what was an above average snowpack melt and run off.
As of today, reservoirs have generally returned to normal seasonal average levels or higher after a winter at less than normal levels. The plan is to continue monitoring flows and capture the runoff from snowmelt and rainfall events resulting in rising water levels.
The weather forecast makes clear that there will be more snow and variable temperature extremes so filling the system while controlling flood risks will continue to be a complex full time set of operations for the TSW Water Management Team.
