Haliburton’s reservoir and flow-through (RaFT) lakes are situated on the tributaries of the Gull, Burnt, and Mississauga Rivers, as well as Nogies, Eels and Jack creeks. Water from these lakes is dammed to collect spring runoff which is then gradually released over the summer to pass water on to the Kawartha Lakes and the Otonabee River. The latter drain towards Rice Lake and the Trent River.
