The CEWF Executive Committee has released the attached 'Statement' (click here) in light of the recent public debate about a new governance structure for the TSW along with increased fees and reduced hours of operation for users of the canal portion of the TSW system.
We are concerned that by focusing the public debate on the operational issues of fees and lock hours, the canal user community risks missing an opportuity to stress the need for adequate long-term infrastructure funding and watershed-wide water management. These are matters of great concern to the reservoir and flow-through lake communities.
