TSW Releases Drawdown Forecast June 30 2025
Hello everybody!
The TSW has advised it's going to start the annual drawdown. The drawdown is when TSW uses the water they have stored in our lakes for other mandated purposes. This means lake levels will start going down a little earlier than some years.
Starting this week we will be receiving and posting the weekly drawdown forecast. These can be a little tricky if you are new to these so here is a quick rundown:
- The drawdown forecasts identify how much each lake will be reduced
- They should be considered a "rolling forecast" because while they are released weekly, they represent two weeks. This is because TSW will modify the forecasts based on a variety of factors including precipitation, which isn't taken into account because it can't be relied on
- If rain falls in the area of your lake it will allow for your lake deviate from the forecast, but only by a little
- If there's going to be an extraordinary event TSW will let us know, and we'll be sure to pass on the information through our website
- The key message here is simply to be aware and stay attentive while you're having your summer fun

There are lots of tools on our website to help you get a pretty good idea of the trends and what to expect by looking at previous years' information.
